According to some of earlier scriptures, Lion is the official vehicle of Ganesha. But the 10th century C.E., the mouse became Ganesha's vehicle and in course of time it was deemed to be his exclusive symbol. In this statue, Ganesha is shown seated on a lion throne with a multi-headed snake back. This Ganesh statue represents the protective nature of Ganesha's blessings. In multi-color hues, the statue is hand-painted and measures 9.5 inches high and 7 inches wide. Handmade, minor variations and defects are common and add to the artistic quality of the statue.
